THE UNIQUENESS AND SPECIALNESS OF BHRUGU ARANYA: FULL MOON AND NEW MOON

THE UNIQUENESS AND SPECIALNESS OF BHRUGU ARANYA:
FULL MOON AND NEW MOON

Among the many unique and special activities that grace Bhrugu Aranya, two highlights each month are what takes place on Full Moon and New Moon days.

Though, of course, daily sunrise/sunset Agnihotra fire is the core of the setting up of the healing energy field here, one of the three other fires that are done here is performed 24 hours, non-stop on Full Moon and New Moon days.

The Om Tryambakam Homa (Homa is a Sanskrit word for fire) is done approximately 12 hours before and 12 hours after the exact moments of the Full and No Moon as a team effort by residents here.

It is a truly wonderful time also for guests to come and either just experience the energy and/or also participate if they wish. The mantra is easy to learn and anyone is welcome to attend while the only requirement for participation in making offerings to the fire is that the person already be performing Agnihotra daily.

There are some additional rules that pertain to women coming to Bhrugu Aranya that should be consulted on the website.

What cannot be adequately described in words, can be learned through direct experience. That is why for decades we have been suggesting that you, "Believe what you experience."

The energizing, calming, and balancing effects are hard to deny here. Full Moon and No Moon days. But don't take our word for it. Do come and experience it yourselves. You may come to realize that what ancient Vedic sciences say about Homas can be directly felt. This includes the balancing of Pranic energy. Prana, the life force that pulsates in and around us and connects us with the cosmos, can be affected in several ways, including Pranayama, alternate breathing through the nostrils. In Homa atmosphere, however, these effects are experienced regardless of what was is doing. Simply by being in the atmosphere, sleeping here, whatever, the effects on Prana are effected.

Prana is especially important as Prana and mind are like two sides of the same coin. Hence any positive change (or negative) in Prana is transposed to the mind. Feelings of peace, serenity and well-being thus, are manifest. It is as if one has received doses of seritonin or endorphins. It is that real.

Below is a description of Full Moon/No Moon energies as excerpted from, "By the Light of the Moon," by James G. Bailey:

The Lunation Cycle
The phases of the moon and the constant transit from one to the other and back again are known as the lunation cycle. It is a symbolic representation of the growth, maturation and death cycle that all things must experience and a principle of life whether it is applied to a living organism, a woman’s reproductive physiology,an action, or an emotion. Each phase of the lunation cycle has its own personality, expressed within the human body by an equivalent phase of the physical menstrual cycle. The waxing phase, from the new to the full moon, represents the growth stage. Using the example of a plant it is the stage between the seed and the fully matured adult. The waning phase, from full to new moon, correlates to the flowering, fruiting and dying of the plant.
