I’m originally from the Netherlands, but years of living in Asia and Latin America have deeply shaped my worldview—and my approach as a therapist. These experiences have given me a strong ability to connect with people navigating change, cultural transitions, or starting over.
Alongside my therapy work, I design psychology courses for NHA Distance Learning, the largest online education provider in the Netherlands. My recent work includes modules on ADHD Coaching and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), where I focus on making evidence-based methods practical and accessible.
In my free time, I enjoy hiking, reading, and traveling—activities that keep me grounded and reflective. I bring this same clarity and care into every session I offer.
Life transitions and identity shifts
Stress, anxiety, and burnout
Unhelpful thought and behavior patterns
Self-esteem and confidence
Relationship and attachment challenges
Goal setting and follow-through
Lifestyle and emotional well-being
I combine proven psychological methods with a calm, client-centered approach. Using tools from CBT, ACT, schema therapy, mindfulness, and attachment theory, I help clients address current concerns while also working on underlying patterns.
My role is to offer structure, insight, and support without judgment. Together, we work toward sustainable growth and lasting change.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Reshape thought patterns and behaviors
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT): Align actions with personal values
Schema Therapy: Address long-standing emotional patterns from early life
Attachment-Based Therapy: Explore how past relationships affect current dynamics
Mindfulness: Build awareness and reduce emotional reactivity
If you’re considering therapy, this two-session offer is a simple, low-pressure way to begin.

Overall
Overall
I had already several sessions with Sophie and I can recommend her. My experience so far has been good and what I appreciate about her is, that she is very goal oriented, I had other people before and it felt like it is leading nowhere. Sophie likes to ask what is my intention and gives suggestions on how to get there in a practical manner. I really can recommend her.
Overall
I have been working with Sophie for the past several months now and have greatly benefited from my time with her. She creates a very nice environment where I feel comfortable talking about a variety of issues, knowing that she will help me address them through both a space of empathy and through her knowledge and expertise as a psychologist. Sophie helps me redirect my thoughts both during the session and through specific exercises she gives me to do outside of the session too. I would highly recommend working with Sophie, I have had a great experience with her.
